In India most of the graduates are relatively low skilled and at times not all colleges have the required infrastructure therefore, many IT companies imparts a basic 3-month technical training especially to new employees. After technical training leadership are the 2nd highest contributor to corporate training market revenue. Such trainings are often reserved for the CXO’s and have a high-ticket value.

Over time many business functions have either shut down or evolved however, sales will always prevail. Similarly, with disruptive business models and buzzing start up culture managerial trainings have become imperative.

Though Corporate Training in India has been dominated by the services industry that comprises of IT, BFSI, BPO etc. training requirements from Retail/Wholesale and Education sector are growing at a faster pace. By Training to designation of employees:

Training programs for the non-managerial level of employee’s accounts for majority of the training. Technical trainings are popular at non-managerial level. Managerial trainings are also on rise. Courses like lean, compliance, statutory laws, process are given in managerial trainings.

Most of the major corporate training companies have their headquarters located in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. The top 4 cities contribute towards a large chunk of the corporate training demand however, other cities like Nagpur, Bhopal, Vishakhapatnam are catching up quickly as many IT corridors are being setup here.

By Mode of Learning:

Instructor led classroom learning is the traditional and most impactful way of imparting training and has always dominated the market. However, with increasing digitization and Covid-19 pandemic many modes of training have emerged. Blended learning, virtual classroom and computer-based modules have redefined training experiences especially during the pandemic and now have gained wide acceptance. Mobile learning is also on the rise as it ensures learning on the go.
